The Echo of Losing

I lost, and lost, and lost again—
Each loss a whisper carved in time.
For life, in all its tender grace,
Teaches love through what we leave behind.

I walked the endless road of days,
Holding moments that slipped like sand.
I loved and love dissolved to mist,
I was cared for  yet it drifted from my hand.

Even when the world held me close,
I felt it fade, as shadows do at dawn.
Loss became my quiet companion,
A song I never meant to learn, but sang along.

Now, losing feels like breathing air,
Too known, too deep to part.
And winning  oh, that distant dream
Still flickers softly in my heart.
