Is love a truth that lingers deep and pure,
Or just a chemical cascade inside?
A restless search with nothing to secure,
Where longing and illusion coincide.
To tell the truth, I wandered far and wide,
And missed more than a single heart can claim;
Yet all these phantoms where my thoughts reside
Were empty echoes built upon a name.
Is this the ache of what is left unsaid,
The lonely verdict of a one-sided part?
No, it is just the labyrinth of my head,
The idle wandering of a foolish heart.
While others find their joy and pass me by,
I waste my days beneath a heavy stone,
And name this tangled dream a grand goodbye
To love I built, and suffered, all alone.
